At Lemon Contact Centre, our team members are at the core of our 'real people, real conversations' approach, and they embody our values of quality, trust, team, passion, and gratitude. With our employee spotlight series, you can get to know the people behind Lemon and share in their experiences of being a part of one of the UK’s leading contact centres. This week, we're shining a spotlight on Lee Shakeshaft to share their story and experiences.
Born and raised in Guisborough, North Yorkshire, Lee has proven himself to be a valuable member of the Lemon team over the last 6 and a half years. Although he has had a few roles with us, he currently works within the IT department as IT Systems Lead. Within his role, Lee carries out a range of IT related tasks, he also has on-call responsibilities and serves as the first point of contact for any IT issues outside of regular hours, and he is the unofficial office handyman.
Although there are a lot of things that Lee can be proud of during his time with Lemon, when asked, he said, "The accomplishment I'm most proud of is the progress I've made within Lemon. I started as a Customer Service Advisor, then moved into a Team Leader role, became an IT technician, and now I'm the IT Systems Lead, and this all happened in just about four years. My favourite thing about working at Lemon is the workplace culture. It’s supportive, collaborative, and always evolving, making it a great environment to grow in."
Throughout his time at Lemon Lee has proven himself to be a team player, going above and beyond his required duties to ensure operational efficiency. However, one thing that has surprised all of us is his irrational fear of polystyrene! So long as there are no packages to unbox, Lee's our guy!
When discussing his career progression with Lemon, Lee stated, "I am grateful that Lemon has allowed me to further my career and widen my knowledge base. What I enjoy most about my current job is the opportunity to learn something new every day. Each challenge and task brings a chance to expand my knowledge and skills, which keeps things exciting and rewarding. However, when I was a Customer Service Advisor/Team Leader, I was fully trained on all of our clients, and the variety of calls I handled each day kept things interesting, as I got to tackle different challenges across multiple platforms and industries."
Whether he's behind a desk, fixing a chair or up a ladder, one thing is for sure: Lee is a fantastic asset to Lemon, and we are excited to see how his skills continue to progress!
We hope you enjoyed learning more about Lee! Join us next time as we continue to highlight the amazing people who make Lemon great.
